The NewFront 2011
Brands, Meet Content
For the fourth year in a row, the NewFront continued to be one of the premier events of Internet Week. The enormously successful online content marketplace attracted Hollywood elite and Fortune 100 marketers to develop the next big, innovative idea in online content worldwide.
With over 800 people in attendance, the NewFront brought Digitas clients together with leading content creators, distributors and talent in a dialog on unique digital programming opportunities. Clients were given a first look and unique access to the latest digital projects and insights, resulting in more than 60 meetings between leading brands and content creators to foster ideas and forge deals.
The event program, "Pipe Dreams, Pipe Reality," showcased the fortunate challenges for marketers resulting from the proliferation of media opportunity. Live pitched content ideas were presented by renowned talent such as Isabella Rossellini, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Tyra Banks and Zach Quinto. Other program highlights included: the fascinating “Freedom Media” opening conversation with
Philip (PJ) Crowley, Chair for Strategic Leadership at Penn State and former Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs and Amr Salama, blogger and filmmaker, who explained how social media is truly revolutionizing our world; a “Brand as Publisher” discussion with executives from General Electric, SAP and OPEN at American Express, who all agreed that Pipe Reality offers more options for brands and content than ever before, and where that content is shared is also critical; “Live! Unstaged” where music industry luminaries discussed how they’re shifting their strategies to scale to larger engaging experiences for fans; and finally a an honest, provocative discussion about today’s “Modern Family” where Kevin Jonas, 12-year-old YouTube sensation Jenna Rose, 11-year-old chef Lizzie Marie and actors and executive producers Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott shared personal stories of how new media has affected their relationships at home and with their friends—how it has affected their ability to communicate with one another.
In addition to top business and entertainment executives get a first look at exclusive digital content from Hollywood's power players, the program was livestreamed to over 230,000 viewers worldwide. Thanks to all for joining us, and look for segments of all of these conversations on this site in the coming week.
