P.J. Crowley
Former Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs and Spokesman for the Department of State

Philip J. (P.J.) Crowley is the 2011-2012 Omar Bradley Chair for Strategic Leadership at Dickinson College, Penn State University Dickinson School of Law and School of International Affairs, and the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

P.J. served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs and Spokesman for the Department of State until March 2011. He was nominated for this position by President Obama and confirmed by the United States Senate in May 2009.

Prior to that, he spent five years as Senior Fellow and Director of Homeland Security at the Center for American Progress, a Washington, D.C. think tank. He has authored several studies on homeland and national security issues, including Safe at Home, a detailed strategy to protect the American homeland, improve national preparedness and rebuild U.S. standing in the world.

During the Clinton administration, P.J. was Special Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Affairs and served on the staff of the National Security Council. He also served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. Crowley spent 26 years in the Air Force, retiring at the rank of colonel in September 1999. He is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Reid and Kenneth Babyface Edmonds and of Bad Boy Records with Sean "Puffy" Combs launching artists TLC, Toni Braxton, Usher, Outkast and P!nk on LaFace and Notorious B.I.G., Mase and Puffy Combs on Bad Boy.  Davis founded J Records in the year 2000 and launched the careers of Alicia Keys and Maroon 5 while attracting key artists like Luther Vandross and Rod Stewart.  

Davis has won 4 Grammy Awards for his producing efforts plus a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.  He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the year 2000 and NARAS, in the year 2010, named the state of the art theater inside The Grammy Museum the Clive Davis Theater.  Just this year, 2011, NYU awarded an Honorary PhD of Fine Arts to Davis.

 

Neal Dodson
Producer, Before the Door Pictures

In addition to producing MARGIN CALL, the “Untitled Victor Quinaz Project,” the upcoming “Untitled JC Chandor Project,” and the dozens of projects in development at Before The Door, most recently Neal also wrote “Nashville,” a drama pilot for the CW and CBS Television. He created the show with Matt Bomer, alongside country artist, Brad Paisley. And he has recently sold a second unannounced television series to a major cable channel, which he will co-executive produce.

As a producer, Neal first worked on director Victor Quinaz’s Cantonese-language short film “Chinese Dream,” which has played more than 100 film festivals all over the world and was on the short-list for the Academy Awards. He also produced the film festival-winning short “Shade,” starring Patrick Dempsey, directed by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and produced another festival short called “Numero Dos” with Brad Paisley. Neal was Vice-President of a Warner Brothers-based production company for three years where he Executive Produced a Warner Premiere feature film called “Another Cinderella Story,” starring Selena Gomez and Jane Lynch. On the development side, Neal was also involved in: Alice Munro’s “Hateship Friendship Courtship” at WB, Paramount’s “Footloose” remake, “Something Borrowed” for United Artists, “Late Blumer” at Paramount Vantage, an animated feature called “The Lost Tomb” and “Kung Fu Kids” at WB, “Fishing For Moonlight” and “You Wish” at WB, “A Christina Carol” and “The Expendables” also at WB, an FX pilot called “Unemployed”  with Greg Mottola, and a Showtime pilot called “Hope Falls” with Vince McKewin among many other projects.

Neal earned a BFA in 2000 from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, and is a reformed actor.

You may not have heard BC Jean’s name, but you’ve probably heard her work. Komen Foundation’s media award for reporting on women's issues and breast cancer and the annual award by the American Mathematics Society for reporting on mathematics. In 1999, she won first prize in the Front Page Awards for deadline reporting from the Newswoman's Club of New York. She was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in investigative reporting in 2000.

 

Greg Kot

Greg Kot has been the music critic at the Chicago Tribune since 1990 and is the co-host of the nationally syndicated public-radio show "Sound Opinions." He has written several books, including Ripped: How the Wired Generation Revolutionized Music and Wilco: Learning How to Die. Kot is currently working on the biography I'll Take You There: Mavis Staples, the Staple Singers, and the March up Freedom’s Highway, to be published in 2014.

Dean McDermott

In January 2010, Michalchyshyn added Discovery Health and FitTV to her portfolio and was charged with delivering a strong Discovery Health for the January 2011 transition to OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. On February 1 2011, Michalchyshyn rebranded FITV to launch the new Nielsen rated network, Discovery Fit & Health.  

Prior to Discovery, Michalchyshyn served as executive vice president and general manager of Sundance Channel where she was responsible for program development, creative strategy scheduling and marketing both on- and off-channel.

With her husband, Ashton Kutcher, she co-founded The Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA), which aims to raise awareness about child sex slavery, change the cultural stereotypes that facilitate this crime, and help rehabilitate survivors. “Freedom is a basic human right and slavery is one of the greatest threats to that freedom,” Moore says. “No one has the right to enslave another person.” 

Recently, Moore appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight to discuss the issue, launched the “Real Men Don’t Buy Girls” campaign, travelled to Nepal with CNN to film a slavery documentary, visited Haiti to address the issue within the earthquake-ravaged country, and toured the Mexican border with the Department of Homeland Security and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. She speaks frequently about child sex slavery including at the UN, The Clinton Global Initiative and at a Congressional briefing about the domestic sex trafficking of children.

Jane Pratt is the founder of the recently launched website, xojane.com, and has had extensive experience in all media. At the age of 24, Pratt launched Sassy, a magazine for teenage girls, and, in doing so, became the youngest editor-in-chief of a national magazine ever, a record that has yet to be broken. Under Pratt, the magazine experienced rapid circulation growth. Pratt then launched JANE magazine, a lifestyle magazine for women 18–34, which debuted in 1997. Zach Quinto

Zachary Quinto grew up in Pittsburgh. He began performing and studying acting there as a child, but what started as a hobby quickly evolved into a vocation, and he eventually matriculated to Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and received a BFA in 1999. Upon graduation from CMU, Quinto surprised even himself by foregoing a career in New York and moving to Los Angeles almost immediately. Work began trickling in, and before long he had a resume of guest starring roles on such shows as: “Touched By an Angel,” “CSI,” “Off Centre,” “Haunted,” “The Agency,” “Six Feet Under,” “Joan of Arcadia,” and “Crossing Jordan,” to name a few. 

In 2004, he spent an entire season in the CTU, as computer analyst Adam Kaufman on FOX’s highly rated drama “24.” His character went home at the end of the day, and apparently never came back to work. He spent a short time as Tori Spelling’s flamboyant best friend on the critically acclaimed but underrated half hour series “so noTORIous,” and went on to emerge as a breakout star of the NBC hit ensemble series “Heroes,” as the superpowered psychopathic serial killer, Sylar. Most recently, Quinto appeared to overwhelming critical acclaim as Spock in the highly anticipated and enormously successful eleventh feature film installment of the “Star Trek” franchise, directed by JJ Abrams. 

In 2008, Quinto founded Before the Door Pictures, with long-time friends and collaborators Neal Dodson and Corey Moosa. The company is actively developing projects across all media platforms.

Last October, 12-year-old Jenna Rose’s video “My Jeans” exploded on YouTube. It’s still trending upwards and is now at over 9 million hits. In March, her next video “O.M.G.” also went viral, getting a million views in just one week. She’ll soon be filming two new music videos for her songs “The Time of Your Life” and “Don’t Give Up,” and also just recorded an album.

Additionally, Jenna has made numerous appearances on the big and small screen. She was featured in the recent documentary Actor, directed by Roberto Serrini, as well as the film Mouse House. She just filmed a lead role for a TV pilot about teens going to performing arts school in Harlem.

In 2008 Robert Redford's Sundance Institute commissioned accomplished actress Isabella Rossellini to make a series of short films to address the issues of the environment. She chose the mating habits of bugs and called her series Green Porno, which has been celebrated in film festivals here and abroad. Ms. Rossellini partnered with Sundance again for a new series about animal courtship entitled Seduce Me. The first five short films became available on video on demand in the spring 2010 and the second five were released in November 2010. Her film Animals Distract Me was chosen for screening at the Sundance Film Festival and aired on Green Planet/the Discovery Channel in April 2011.

Her past achievements are internationally renowned: appearing in more than 40 films (Blue Velvet, Death Becomes Her, The Saddest Music in the World, Infamous) and 25 made-for-television movies/series (Alias, Discovery Atlas: Italy Revealed, Iconoclasts, 30 Rock); an illustrious international modeling career (as the face of Lancôme for 14 years); developing her own brand of cosmetics; writing and philanthropy. Richard Stengel
Managing Editor, TIME Magazine

Richard Stengel is the managing editor of TIME, which has 25 million readers worldwide. He also oversees Time.com, which draws over 11 million unique visitors a month, and TIME’s other brand extensions, including TIME For Kids.
 
Among his other notable achievements, Stengel collaborated with Nelson Mandela on Mandela’s best-selling 1993 autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom, and later served as co-producer of the 1996 Oscar- nominated documentary Mandela. He also served as the co-moderator for the ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum on September 11, 2008, where he interviewed Senators John McCain and Barack Obama on their views about national service.
